Become a Member

Engagement in the UC Merced Venture Lab program is broken into three categories: member, affiliate, and mentor. Members are typically individuals or teams that are interested in launching a new and innovative venture. These teams receive specialized coaching in business development and introductions to key mentors that can help them advance their company. Affiliates are typically companies that are further along or have an established business model. Affiliates receive access to a wide array of other affiliates, mentors and researchers. This program is geared towards helping companies connect to a network, explore a new industry or explore opportunities in research and development. Mentors are individuals with a specialized area of expertise that volunteer their time towards the advancement of these new and established businesses.

Types of Membership

Member

The UC Merced Venture Lab member program is geared towards helping new startups assess their market opportunity by assisting program participants develop their business model, identify potential customers, create route-to-market plans and more. This support is done with access to free legal advisors, business consultants, access to a wide array of mentors, established companies and other new ventures.

Affiliate

The UC Merced Venture Lab affiliates program is for established companies that are interested in assistance with taking their business to the next level. The program helps participants connect to a network and explore new markets.

Mentor

The UC Merced Venture Lab mentor program is open to individuals that would like to coach new ventures that are exploring different market opportunities and established businesses that are interested in taking their business to the next level. Mentors engage with members a few times throughout the year in a formal setting. Outside of that, mentors meet with members as needed.
